House on a Rock - Saint John, New Brunswick

I loved Canada.  Both times I went there - I just found it remarkably different from where I live.  There are many places like this that I have visited - some of them in our own country. But the three Canadian cities I have visited just had something really light and comfortable feeling about them.

I aim for this kind of lightness in my life. I want to be comfortable for people. I tell folks in my office all the time that the reason I wear ugly trucker hats is so people know that I don't take myself too seriously. (I also wear them because they are hilarious and B collected them for me!)

If you think about it, I shouldn't have to work hard to be the kind of person I am aiming for.  God created me as a Pastor - a caretaker. And my StrengthsFinder results (Woo, Communicator, Activator, Strategic, Arranger) confirm that I am well skilled at being in the muck with people and loving on them.  But it isn't always easy because of doubt and fear and all the things that keep us from being our best. So - lets live like the house! Lets be bruised and aging but still beautiful and magically, EVIDENTLY built on the ROCK.  Show your foundation. Reveal your calling and your strengths. Own your firm stance as a house that is not going anywhere.
